Interaction in Climate Games The Case of Emissions Trading
نویسنده
چکیده
Climate games deal with the interaction among multiple actors on global, regional and local levels of climate policy, increasing or decreasing emissions of greenhouse gases. Emissions trading is an instrument of the Kyoto Protocol to achieve emission reductions in regions and business sectors where they are least costly. Emission paths and emission trading flows are analysed within a dynamic multi-agent game, with reaction functions depending on individual threshold prices, the level of allowed emission reductions and the possibility to shift to a low-emission production. Data-based computer simulation depicts the interaction between emission reductions and prices.

Acknowledgements This research has been supported by the European Commission under the project Interaction in EU Climate Policy (INTERACT). Greece and the Netherlands. The project is studying the conflicts and synergies between different climate policy instruments at the national and EU levels, with particular reference to emissions trading. The present report forms one part of the UK case stud...
متن کاملTradable Permits for Greenhouse Gas Emissions: A primer with perticular reference to Europe
This paper is written as part of a two-year study of climate change policy choices facing Sweden, conducted under the auspices of the Center for Business and Policy Studies in Stockholm. As such, it aims to be a primer on emissions trading as an instrument for limiting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions under the Kyoto Protocol to the Framework Convention on Climate Change. The first section notes ...
متن کاملReversible and irreversible impacts of greenhouse gas emissions in multi-century projections with the NCAR global coupled carbon cycle-climate model
The legacy of historical and the long-term impacts of 21st century greenhouse gas emissions on climate, ocean acidification, and carbon-climate feedbacks are investigated with a coupled carbon cycle-climate model. Emission commitment scenarios with zero emissions after year 2100 and 21st century emissions of 1,800, 900, and 0 gigatons of carbon are run up to year 2500. The reversibility and irr...

Climate change is one of the most important challenges which has effect on river runoff. Warmer climatic conditions have intensified the water cycle, rainfall changes, runoff time and amount. There were several studies with different result on this subject all over the world. Due to the importance of karoun zone and lack of studies, the researcher tried to study the effects of this phenomenon o...
